The average amount of time a first time visitor will look at your site is seven seconds. If you don’t make a good impression in that first seven seconds, a potential customer will move onto a different source.
This is why a web site search is so important to any complex site. Without one a customer can become confused and disoriented. This confusion will provoke the customer to move on. With a site search the customer can type in the topic they want immediately and find out if you can provide the information they require.
